Problem Note 45321: Exception and disk read errors occur when you import JMP® 9 files into SAS® 9.3
When you import JMP 9 files into SAS 9.3, the following error might occur:
ERROR: An exception has been encountered.
Please contact technical support and provide them with the following traceback information:
The SAS task name is [IMPORT]
Exception occurred at (62BA1B3A)
When you import the same file into the first maintenance release of SAS 9.3 (TS1M1), this error occurs:
Disk Read Request Error
ERROR: Import unsuccessful. See SAS Log for details.
NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.
The problem occurs because of a JMP engine failure. To circumvent the problem, do one of the following:
- Open the file in JMP and save it as a JMP Version 5 file; the format of Version 5 does not contain Unicode.
- Or, open the file in JMP and save it as a SAS data set.
